I couldn't recommend Balance & Build enough.
At the time We met Angie and Sharon from balance and build our whole family felt at breaking point with my Son's high school. It hadn't been the fresh start. We were hoping for, instead, My Son's behaviour in school was unmanageable, Teachers couldn't have him in the classroom, He was getting getting endless detentions, periods of isolation and was constantly in fights. He became verbally and physically abusive at school, and at home, and his own self-esteem was at rock bottom, it was heartbreaking. We tried working with the school but every measure in place just didn't work. He hated school, The teachers, Me for making him go and Life!
From the very moment I met Sharon and Angie. I liked them. They were down-to-earth and made us feel completely reassured. Sharon chatted to me all about Balance & Build, their Thinking, Plans, Goals and how it all started. She showed me the app, which is fantastic! As a parent it makes you feel involved. The reports are detailed, and it's very clear when you read them just how well they know your child and what works for them. While Sharon and I chatted, we were being drowned out by the laughter coming from the next room, Angie had bought games round and She and my Son were playing and building rapport. By the time they left my Son was buzzing and really excited about starting with them.
And....... it has been amazing, wonderful, heartwarming, reassuring, transformative, fun and on a level of understanding that I didn't think possible. My Son is happy wants to go, feels heard and feels safe. He comes home happy and his self-esteem is mended.
The whole team have been approachable, kind understanding and genuinely want your child to thrive. They are absolutely passionate about what they do. They know my Son's triggers and how to work with them, they help to regulate him, listen to him and give him time. If it's not a sit and work day, they switch it up and pivot the day to something achievable.
I couldn't recommend Balance & Build highly enough.I could honestly wax lyrical endlessly about their work , and the massive difference they make. Truly from the bottom of my heart , I want to thank them for all that they have done for my boy.

Before we found Balance & Build, I honestly felt like we were running out of options. School had become such a negative place for my son and every day seemed to bring another phone call, detention, isolation or incident. He was angry, frustrated and completely losing confidence in himself. At home, we were seeing the impact too. As a family, we were exhausted and heartbroken.
From the first time we met the team at Balance & Build, something just felt different. They didn't judge my son or focus only on his behaviour. They wanted to understand him. They listened to us as parents, but most importantly, they listened to him.
The difference has been incredible. My son actually wants to attend. He feels safe, understood and accepted. The team know when to encourage him, when to give him space and when a planned day simply needs to change. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. They genuinely know him as an individual.
We have seen his confidence slowly return and, for the first time in a long time, he is able to talk positively about his days. Seeing him come home happy instead of angry or defeated means more to us than I could ever explain.
Balance & Build have made such a huge difference to our son and to our whole family. Their patience, understanding and genuine passion for the young people they work with is obvious in everything they do. We will always be incredibly grateful for them.

I genuinely don't know where we would be without Balance & Build.
When my child first started, school life had completely broken down. He was constantly overwhelmed, regularly getting into trouble and had reached a point where he believed he was simply a “bad kid”. His self-esteem was incredibly low and it was devastating to watch him give up on himself.
Balance & Build saw past all of that.
They took the time to build trust and a genuine relationship with him. They quickly learned his triggers, his interests, his sense of humour and the things that helped him regulate. They never made him feel like a problem to be fixed. Instead, they made him feel valued and capable.
One of the things I admire most is their flexibility. If my son is ready to sit and focus, they work with that. If he is struggling, they adapt the day, get him moving, talking or doing something practical and achievable. They meet him where he is, rather than punishing him for not being somewhere else.
As a parent, the communication and detailed reports are so reassuring. You feel involved and you can see just how well the team understand your child.
My son's confidence, happiness and general wellbeing have improved enormously. Balance & Build haven't just supported his education; they have helped him rebuild his belief in himself. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
What they do is incredibly special.
The change we have seen in our child since starting with Balance & Build has honestly been beyond anything we expected.
Before Balance & Build, every morning was a battle. School caused huge anxiety and frustration and our child had become completely disengaged. We were regularly dealing with challenging behaviour, arguments and emotional outbursts. Underneath all of that was a child who was struggling and desperately unhappy.
From day one, the Balance & Build team approached our child with kindness, humour and understanding. They didn't demand trust; they earned it.
They understand that behaviour is communication and they take the time to work out what is actually happening for a young person. They know when my child needs encouragement, when they need a break and when they simply need someone to listen without judgement.
We now have a child who gets up and wants to go. A child who talks about the team with genuine affection and excitement. A child who feels heard.
The impact has reached far beyond the hours spent at Balance & Build. Home life is calmer, confidence has grown and we are seeing parts of our child's personality return that we thought had disappeared beneath all the stress.
The entire team are approachable, passionate and genuinely invested in the young people they support. What they do is incredibly special and we will never forget the difference they have made to our family.

Finding Balance & Build felt like someone finally understood our child.
For so long, we had been stuck in a cycle of meetings, behaviour reports, sanctions and promises of new strategies. Nothing seemed to work and our child was becoming more angry, more isolated and more convinced that education simply wasn't for them.
Then we met Balance & Build.
What struck me immediately was how natural the team were with my child. There was no awkwardness and no pressure. They built rapport through conversation, laughter and shared interests and made my child feel comfortable incredibly quickly.
Since starting, we have seen such a positive transformation. My child feels safe enough to be honest when they are struggling. The team recognise the signs before things escalate and know how to support them to regulate. They are flexible, realistic and completely child-centred.
As a parent, I also feel supported. The communication is brilliant and the app and reports give a real insight into the day. You never feel shut out of the process.
Most importantly, my child is happier. Their confidence is coming back and they are beginning to see that they do have strengths, skills and a future.
Balance & Build are not simply providing an alternative to school. They are giving young people a place where they can breathe, rebuild and begin to believe in themselves again. I could not be more grateful.

t is difficult to put into words just how much Balance & Build have done for our family.
By the time we came to them, our son was at absolute rock bottom. His relationship with school had completely deteriorated and he had lost trust in the adults around him. He was angry, defensive and unhappy and, as parents, we felt helpless watching him struggle.
Balance & Build never saw the difficult behaviour first. They saw our son.
They gave him time. They listened to him. They laughed with him, encouraged him and slowly built a relationship where he felt safe enough to be himself. There has never been any pressure for him to fit into a particular box or behave like every other child.
The team understand him incredibly well. They recognise his triggers and know how to support him before he becomes overwhelmed. They celebrate the small wins just as much as the big ones and, on difficult days, they adapt rather than allowing him to feel like he has failed again.
The difference in him is incredible. He is happier, calmer and more confident. He talks positively about his days and genuinely looks forward to going. Watching his self-esteem rebuild has been emotional for all of us.
Every member of the team we have met has been kind, approachable and completely passionate about helping young people thrive. You can tell this isn't simply a job to them. They genuinely care.
I will forever be thankful that Balance & Build came into our son's life. They have given us hope, but most importantly, they have given our boy a place where he feels understood, valued and safe.
